The place that brought me home.
After years of writing about restaurants across the South, life eventually led me back to North Alabama. Today, my husband Ryan and I call nearby Athens home, giving us a front-row seat to one of the fastest-growing and most exciting food scenes in the region.
Rocket City innovation meets Southern hospitality here. One day might begin with locally roasted coffee and end with chef-driven tasting menus, while a short drive away you'll find family-owned diners, barbecue smoke drifting through the air, roadside farm stands, and hidden gems worth planning a road trip around.
For me, North Alabama isn't just where I live.
It's where I'm rediscovering home.
