Dinner Reservations to Make on Alabama’s Beaches

Alabama beach vacations are wonderfully casual—until everyone decides they want seafood at sunset at exactly the same time.
Most restaurants in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach do not accept reservations, which makes the places that do especially valuable during summer, holidays, and festival weekends. If one of these is on your wish list, reserve it before you arrive.
Voyagers at Perdido Beach Resort
For the special-occasion dinner
Voyagers is the reservation to make when you want dinner to feel like an event. The Gulf-front dining room specializes in Gulf seafood, prime steaks, seasonal produce, and polished coastal cooking.
The restaurant recommends booking approximately three weeks ahead. Larger parties should call directly.
Location: Orange Beach
Best for: Anniversaries, birthdays, sunset dinners and culinary travelers
Reserve: Voyagers
Jesse’s on the Bay
For a meal worth driving down Fort Morgan Road
Jesse’s combines bay views with dry-aged beef, locally sourced seafood, and the kind of seasonal menu that rewards curious ordering. It is removed from the busiest part of the beach strip, making the drive feel like part of the experience.
Request a waterfront table if available, but remember that the sunset cannot be guaranteed—even with a reservation.
Location: Fort Morgan
Best for: Steak, Gulf seafood, date night and destination dining
Reserve: Jesse’s on the Bay
Louisiana Lagniappe
For Gulf seafood with Creole personality
Located at SanRoc Cay Marina, Louisiana Lagniappe has served Orange Beach since 1999. Expect an upscale but approachable evening built around Gulf seafood, steaks, and Creole-influenced preparations. The restaurant offers indoor seating overlooking the marina, so this is a dependable choice when you want a waterfront atmosphere without gambling your dinner on the weather.
Location: Orange Beach
Best for: Grouper, Creole flavors, marina views and family celebrations
Reserve: Louisiana Lagniappe
Perch at Gulf State Park
For cocktails, firepits and a Gulf sunset
Perch sits inside The Lodge at Gulf State Park, with a deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Its combination of elevated food, handcrafted cocktails, outdoor firepits and sunset views makes it one of the coast’s most atmospheric reservations.
Book an early-evening table if watching the sky change colors is part of the plan.
Location: Gulf Shores
Best for: Sunset, cocktails, small plates and a slower evening
Reserve: Perch
Zeke’s Restaurant
For an upscale-casual marina night
Zeke’s offers locally sourced seafood with Mediterranean influences overlooking Cotton Bayou. It works well when one person wants a thoughtfully prepared seafood dinner and someone else wants a more relaxed marina experience.
Leave time before or after dinner to walk around the marina and watch the boats.
Location: Orange Beach
Best for: Fresh seafood, craft cocktails, groups and marina views
Reserve: Zeke’s Restaurant
Barometer Waterfront Grille
For waterfront brunch or a relaxed date night
Barometer is a newer Orange Beach option serving coastal dishes, seafood, steaks and cocktails along the water. Unlike many beach restaurants, it takes online reservations and serves weekend brunch in addition to dinner.
This is a useful reservation for travelers who want a polished waterfront meal without turning the evening into a formal occasion.
Location: Orange Beach
Best for: Weekend brunch, golden hour, cocktails and casual date night
Reserve: Barometer Waterfront Grille
Delia Jo’s Vacation Reservation Rule: I used to reserve every single meal (okay, sometimes 3 in one night in some of my favorite food cities), but now I leave room for natural flow of dining.
Reserve one or two special meals before the trip, then leave room for spontaneous discoveries: an oyster stop, a seafood shack, a recommendation from a local, or the place you notice because the parking lot is mysteriously full.
A good beach dining plan needs structure—but it also needs space for the tide to change it. That's the real secret to a life well fed -- always being ready to adjust our sails. <3
